Michael Karsten started working at GE Power in 2016 as an Engineering Intern. After completing their internship, they joined the company's rotational leadership program as a Mechanical Engineer from January 2017 to June 2018. In July 2018, they transitioned to the role of Software Engineer at GE Power, where they were responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise analytics for the company's fleet of power plants. Michael utilized technologies such as PySpark, AWS S3, and Machine Learning to generate actionable insights from big data. In addition, they hold certifications as an Engineer In Training (EIT) from the State of Georgia and as a Private Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration.
