Helen Jones serves as the Library and Digital Team Leader and Acting Head of Publishing and Systems (Senior Researcher) at the Senedd since April 2012. In their role within the Research Service, Helen Jones provides impartial and expert research support to Assembly Members, aiding their scrutiny of Welsh Government policies and legislative proposals. Responsibilities include responding to confidential inquiries related to finance and statistics, contributing to proactive briefings for debates, collaborating with colleagues to enhance service delivery, and fostering the professional development of the team. Previously, Helen Jones held positions as a Senior Researcher at Senedd Research, Business Analyst/Senior Research Officer at Cardiff County Council, Economist at Somerset County Council, and Economic Analyst at the Welsh Government. Helen Jones holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Evidence Based Research Methods from Cardiff University.
