Thomas Ebenstein is a seasoned soloist with an extensive performance history, currently engaged with Opéra de Lyon since August 2024 for a new production of A. Berg’s WOZZECK. Since September 2012, Thomas has been a member of the ensemble at Wiener Staatsoper. Engagements include guest contracts as a soloist at notable theaters such as Hamburgische Staatsoper GmbH, Bayerische Staatsoper, Semperoper Dresden, Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, and Salzburger Festspiele, showcasing roles in works by R. Strauss, W. A. Mozart, and R. Wagner. Recent performances include Mime in both Bühnen Bern and Lucerne Festival productions. Thomas holds a Master of Arts in Gesang, Musikdramatische Darstellung & Lied und Oratorium from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, completed in 2004.
