Sohrab Aftabjahani, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Sohrab started their career as a Research Engineer and then became a Team Lead at the IRAN Telecommunication Research Center (ITRC) from 1993 to 2000.

After that, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Shahid Beheshti University from 1999 to 2000. Subsequently, they worked as a Java Programmer and XML Specialist at Emergint from 2000 to 2002, where they contributed to projects such as the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) and the Advanced Internet Platforms Guideline Portal.

In 2002, they joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Research Assistant, focusing on Statistical Variation-Aware Performance Modeling of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). Sohrab also served as an Instructor of Record and a Teaching Assistant during their time at the university.

In 2005, Sohrab worked as a Software Engineer at SpaceWorks Engineering Inc. and as a Computer Engineer at Impact Technologies Group, Inc. in 2007.

Their career then took him to Intel Corporation, where they held several positions. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Graduate Intern in Graphics Engineering Integration Validation. Later, they became a Sr. DFT/ASIC/Digital Design Engineer, focusing on building Design-For-Test (DFT) features into ASIC designs. Sohrab also worked as a Sr. Security Researcher, specializing in IP security evaluation and providing security guidance for various Intel product groups.

In 2017, Sohrab assumed the role of IEEE Oregon Computer Society Chair at IEEE-USA, where they represented the Computer Society chapter in Oregon and revitalized the IEEE Oregon Section Computer Society Chapter.

Since 2015, they have been associated with the Semiconductor Research Corporation in multiple roles, including Industry Liaison and involvement in various research groups such as Computer-Aided Design and Test (CADT) and Trustworthy and Secure Semiconductors and Systems (T3S).

Throughout their career, Sohrab Aftabjahani, Ph.D. has demonstrated expertise in security validation, design-for-security, VLSI performance modeling, and various software and programming roles.

Sohrab Aftabjahani, Ph.D., has a strong educational background in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Sohrab began their academic journey with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, which they earned between the years 1989 and 1994.

Sohrab subsequently pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Tehran, completing their studies from 1994 to 1996.

To further enhance their expertise, Dr. Aftabjahani pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Their doctoral studies spanned from 2002 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Aftabjahani has also obtained various certifications in their professional field. These certifications include the titles of Intel Data Platforms Group Technical Lead, Product Assurance and Security Blue Belt, Product Assurance and Security Brown Belt, Product Assurance and Security Green Belt - Hardware Architect/Designer, Product Assurance and Security White Belt, and Product Assurance and Security Yellow Belt - Hardware. These certifications were obtained at Intel Corporation between 2021 and 2022.
