ROMAN URFER

Roman Urfer has a diverse work experience with a focus on neurodegenerative disorders. ROMAN is currently the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Selonterra, Inc., where they develop small molecule modulators for the treatment of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Prior to this, Roman served as the Chief Development Officer at NeuroAssets, where they led R&D activities for a neurotrophic factor product. ROMAN also achieved multiple orphan drug designations and managed the intellectual property portfolio. Roman has experience as the Chief Scientific Officer at M's Science Corporation, where they developed CNS drugs and led the development of novel small molecule drugs for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. ROMAN also held the role of Senior Vice President Drug Discovery & Development at AGY Therapeutics, focusing on the identification and development of small molecule drugs. Roman began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Genentech, Inc., where they designed neurotrophic factors for the treatment of sensory neuropathies. Throughout their career, they have contributed to numerous patents and publications.

Roman Urfer obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from ETH Zürich, which they attended from 1984 to 1989. Afterward, they pursued further studies at the University of Basel, where they completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry between 1989 and 1992.
