Maggie Matear is the current President & CEO at Selkirk College. Prior to their current position, they served as the Vice President University Services at Yukon University from July 2019 to September 2020. Maggie has also held the position of Director Of Community Economic Development at Timmins Economic Development Corporation from January 2016 to June 2019. In addition, they have worked as an Adjunct Professor at Athabasca University, Queens University, and Algoma University from January 2010 to December 2018. Before their career in academia, Maggie was a partner at Clearlogic Consulting Professionals where they provided strategic planning and sustainability services from January 2006 to December 2018. Her first professional position was as the Director Of Operations at NEOnet - North Eastern Ontario Communications Network Inc. from September 2000 to September 2005.
Maggie Matear has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management from Queen's University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from the University of Waterloo. Maggie also has a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Science from Western University. Maggie is certified by the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada) as a Certified Management Consultant and by the Canadian Evaluation Society - Société canadienne d'évaluation as a Certified Program Evaluator (CPE).
