Merle Burgstaller has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and organizations. Starting in 2018, they worked as a Praktikantin psychologische Forschung at Charité Berlin for two months. In 2018-2019, they served as a Recruitment Assistant at Charité Research Organisation. Merle then transitioned to Schlosspark-Klinik Berlin in 2020, where they worked as a Psychologin until February 2021. Concurrently, from 2019-2021, they worked as a Trainerin für Gewaltprävention at Berliner Zentrum für Gewaltprävention. In 2021, they became a Message-based Guidance Psychologist at Selfapy until January 2022. Merle then took on the role of Team Lead Guidance at Selfapy from June 2022 until becoming the Head of Patient Relations at Selfapy starting in December 2022.

Merle Burgstaller began their education in 2013 at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2016. Merle then pursued further education at the same institution, earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, in 2019, they enrolled in the Psychologische Hochschule Berlin for their ongoing training to become a psychotherapist.
