James Larounis has held a variety of roles in the travel industry since 2010. James began their career as the Owner and Writer for The Forward Cabin travel blog, where they consulted on miles and points travel, and specialized in hotel and airline frequent traveler programs. James then worked as a Training Center Faculty for Heartstarts in 2012 and as the Director of Marketing for Frequent Traveler University in the same year. In 2015, they took on the role of Business Development Manager for the Frequent Traveler Education Foundation. In 2018, they worked as a Tour Coordinator for Maxa Tours, a Loyalty and Frequent Traveler Programs Consultant for Executive Travel Inc., a Business Development Manager for SELECT, a Director of Partnerships for Frequent Traveler Awards, and a Business Development Manager for Loyalty Summit. Most recently, they have been a Content Contributor and Industry Analyst for Upgraded Points since 2019.

James Larounis obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from The University of Mary Washington in 2012. James also obtained an EMT-Enhanced certification from the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services in February 2011.
