Ligaya Domingo has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple organizations and roles. Starting in 1996, they interned as a Union Summer Intern at AFL-CIO. Ligaya then continued their involvement with labor unions, serving as a Union Summer Coordinator at AFL-CIO in 1997. Following that, they worked as a Union Organizer at SEIU from 1997 to 1998. Ligaya then joined SEIU Healthcare 1199NW as an Organizer from 1998 to 2000.

In 2001, Ligaya transitioned into the education sector, working as a Teacher at Lake Washington School District from 2001 to 2002, and then at Seattle Public Schools from 2002 to 2003.

Returning to the labor organizing field, they served as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley from 2003 to 2006.

Ligaya rejoined SEIU Healthcare 1199NW in 2010, starting as an Organizer from 2010 to 2011, then progressing to become a Lead Union Organizer from 2011 to 2014. Ligaya held the role of Education Director from 2014 to 2021, and currently serves as the Racial Justice and Education Director from March 2021 onwards at SEIU Healthcare 1199NW.

Ligaya Domingo completed their education in a chronological manner. Ligaya started their schooling at Northwest School from 1989 to 1995, but did not obtain any degree or field of study during this time. Ligaya then attended Mills College in 1995-1996, and later studied at The Evergreen State College from 1996-1997, however, they did not obtain a degree or field of study from either institution. Ligaya finally obtained their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Washington between 1997 and 2000. Ligaya continued their education at Seattle University from 2000-2001, where they received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on Elementary Education and Teaching. Ligaya then pursued their Master's degree in Education at the University of California, Berkeley from 2003 to 2006. Ligaya's academic journey culminated in earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education / Social and Cultural Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied from 2006 to 2010.
