Balasubramanian Viswanathan currently serves as an Energy Specialist at Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) since March 2023, focusing on tracking SDG7 ambitions, energy access, and renewable energy manufacturing. Prior experience includes roles as an Energy Analyst at SEforALL, where work involved climate finance and national energy transition plans, and as a Policy Advisor at the International Institute for Sustainable Development, concentrating on government support to the energy sector and fossil fuel subsidy transparency. Balasubramanian's academic background includes a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
