Eugene Li has extensive work experience spanning various roles and companies. Eugene currently holds a position in engineering leadership at Seesaw Learning, starting in October 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Duetto from 2015 to 2020, serving as a senior software engineering manager from July 2018 to October 2020, and as a lead software engineer from December 2015 to October 2020. Eugene also worked at The Human Diagnosis Project as an early engineer from July 2014 to December 2015, and at Salesforce.com as a senior member of technical staff from August 2010 to July 2014. Eugene was a graduate student researcher at UC Berkeley - Hybrid Systems Lab from July 2009 to May 2010, a software engineering intern at Amazon.com in the summer of 2008, and a graduate student instructor at UC Berkeley from August 2007 to December 2007. Additionally, Eugene gained experience as a software engineering intern at Intuit in the summer of 2007, and as a product management intern at Clicktime.com, Inc. in the summer of 2006.

Eugene Li completed their education in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. Eugene first obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in this field from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they pursued further studies at the same institution and obtained their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from 2009 to 2010.
