Louis E. James has more than 40 years of experience in managing sales, marketing, operations, personnel, and merchandising for both start-up and established retail, franchise, manufacturing, and service companies. He has served as a senior executive for the past thirty years and has owned many successful business ventures.
One of James' most successful ventures in the Midwest, MCLJasco, Inc. provides a diverse range of supply chain management services, quality, and containment, including inventory management and steel manufacturing. Solutions for Energy Efficient Logistics (SEEL) is a division of MCLJasco, that provides services within the energy efficiency space. Through SEEL, James promotes positive environmental change by administering energy management programs, on behalf of its clients.
James also owns JASCO International, a company that produces electrical components, manages warehouses, and provides logistics services. He also owns QIC, which provides quality and containment, rework, and engineering support to their clients as well as Motor City International, which services governmental contracts and MRO services. James' companies have received numerous prestigious awards, including twice receiving General Motors Supplier of the Year Award, Supplier of the Year, Luminary Award, and Honda's Top Quality Award. In its second year of operation, SEEL won the nationally coveted Andromeda Star of Energy Award from the Alliance to Save Energy.
Prior to starting this impressive line-up of companies, James owned a business machinery distributor in Chicago, Illinois. The company, called Information Systems Group of Illinois, marketed, sold, and serviced IBM and Xerox brands to major corporations. He also owned Morrilton Plastic Products and served convenience stores in the Chicago area.
A committed community leader and civic servant, James is a board member of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council and the Coleman A. Young Foundation. He currently serves as vice president of the Wayne County Sheriff Youth & Senior Education Fund. He is also a member of the National Association of Black Suppliers (NABS), American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), Minority Economic Resource Corporation (MERC), PUSH International Trade Bureau Global, the SCLC Business Executive Council, and the Boy Scout of America, to name a few.
A veteran of the United States Army, James attended Mississippi Valley State University, graduating with a BS in Business Administration.
