Reto Barmettler has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. Reto began as an Informatiker Systemtechnik EFZ at ROSEN in 2009, then moved to a System Engineer role at Gemeindeverband ICT in 2015. In 2017, they became a Klassen- und Betreuungsassistenz at Gemeindeschule Engelberg. In 2018, they worked as a Temporärer IT-Mitarbeiter at Steeltec, and in 2020 they took on a Betagten Betreuung role at Stiftung Alters- und Pflegeheim Nidwalden. Reto currently works as a Full Stack Software Engineer at Sedimentum AG, a Swiss healthcare start-up developing a contactless solution for fall and emergency detection in healthcare.

Reto Barmettler obtained their Eid. Fähigkeitszeugnis Informatiker Fachrichtung Systemtechnik from the Bundesverwaltung in July 2009, after attending BBZ Wirtschaft, Informatik und Technik Sursee from 2009 to 2013. Reto then obtained their Technische Berufsmaturität from Berufs- und Weiterbildungszentrum Sarnen in July 2014. In addition, Reto Barmettler obtained their ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in November 2015. Finally, they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Vertiefung in Artificial Intelligence & Visual Computing) from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2020. Additionally, Reto Barmettler holds the Octalysis Gamification Framework Level 1 certification from The Octalysis Group, which they obtained in September 2018.
