Ian Sampson has worked for a variety of companies since 2000. Ian started as a Systems Engineer for Damovo, then moved to Frontrunner Solutions as a Systems Engineer. In 2004, they changed roles to a Systems Engineer at Kagoor Networks. In 2005, they became a Senior System Engineer at Juniper Networks, specializing in Session Border Controllers and Voice Solutions. In 2006, they moved to Covergence Inc. as a Consulting Engineer. From 2008 to 2017, they were the Director of Sales Engineering at Nominum, running the Sales Engineering teams for the EMEA, Russia, and major accounts in the region. In 2020, they became the Pre Sales Director at Cyan Digital Security, followed by a role as a Sr. Customer Solution Engineer at Plume Design, Inc. in 2021. Currently, they are a Sales Engineer at Secure64 Software Corporation.

Ian Sampson has studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Nottingham and Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NNCFE.
