Rune Thomsen is an experienced R&D professional with a strong background in hardware innovation and technology management, currently serving as the R&D Innovation & Technology Manager at Nidec Secop since January 2010. In this role, Rune leads the hardware innovation department focused on compressor electronic variable speed drives and motor control, emphasizing advancements in power electronics and motor design. Previously, Rune held the position of R&D Manager for Hardware Electronics at Nidec Secop, contributing as the lead architect in power electronics and drive systems. Prior experience includes working as an R&D Hardware Engineer at Danfoss from August 2002 to December 2009, where Rune specialized in designing power electronics for variable speed drives across various market segments. Rune holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syddansk Universitet, earned between 1998 and 2002.
