Brian Palechek is an accomplished accounting professional with extensive experience in financial investigation and auditing. Currently serving as the Assistant Chief Accountant at the US Securities and Exchange Commission since March 2008, Brian focuses on investigating potential violations of federal securities laws. Prior to this role, Brian worked as a Financial Investigator for the ATF from February 2004 to March 2008, where investigations centered on possible violations of federal criminal statutes. Brian's earlier experience includes a position as Audit Manager at Ernst & Young LLP from September 1998 to February 2004, specializing in corporate financial statement audits for large, publicly traded manufacturing companies in both the US and Australia. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland, completed in 1998.
