Vesa Toropainen is a seasoned professional in the financial services sector, currently serving as the Head of Sustainability Business Management at SEB since August 2013. Vesa has held several strategic leadership roles within SEB, including Head of FICC Advisory and Sustainability, where Vesa focused on advisory business generation in the wholesale banking sector, and Head of Markets IB Risk Advisory, overseeing ancillary business from Investment Banking. Vesa also managed financial markets for Asia while leading the markets team in Shanghai and held key positions in commodities and foreign exchange in Finland prior to this. Vesa holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, earned between 1996 and 2000.
