Tumaini Rucker Coker is a Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of General Pediatrics at the University of Washington, as well as the Director of Research at Seattle Children's Center for Diversity and Health Equity, roles held since October 2016. Prior to these positions, Tumaini served as the Associate Director of Health Services Research at UCLA Children's Discovery & Innovation Institute and as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Mattel Children's Hospital, where contributions to pediatric healthcare were made from February 2007 to September 2016. Tumaini's career includes significant experience as a Health Services Researcher at RAND Corporation and as a pediatrician at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Tumaini Rucker Coker completed a BA in Psychology at Stanford University, an MBA in Healthcare Management at UCLA, and an MD at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, in addition to training through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program.
