Katherine (Katie) O. is an experienced biostatistician with a robust academic background and extensive work history in healthcare research. Currently serving as Principal Biostatistician at Seattle Children's since October 2017, Katherine previously held roles at the Surgical Outcomes Research Center at the University of Washington as Senior Biostatistician and Associate Director of Analytics, and at Bloodworks Northwest as a Biostatistician. Katherine's experience includes collaboration with clinicians and scientists on projects in blood storage, transplantation, and hemophilia care, as well as contributions to HIV/AIDS research during a postdoctoral fellowship at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Katherine holds a PhD and MS in Biostatistics from the University of Washington and a BS in Mathematics from Clemson University, complemented by specialized training in statistical genetics and big data.
