Sammi Lacovara has a diverse work experience, beginning with a Student Office Assistant position at CNCC Housing and Rec Office in 2016. In 2015, they worked as an Archival Assistant at Rangely Outdoor Museum, where they transcribed and digitally archived the historical property. In 2017, they became a Shift Supervisor at Jason's Deli, where they managed a team of at least 5 employees and other managers to run a smooth closing shift. In 2019, they took on an internship as a Database Management Intern at BBYO, where they formatted, cleaned, managed, reviewed, and entered data into the company database. In 2021, they were an Industry Affairs Intern at Entertainment Software Association, where they reviewed and updated existing data for integration into the company database, analyzed the database system and the process used to collect and integrate data, used findings to suggest recommendations for improvements to the database, and wrote research articles highlighting ESA survey findings for 2021. Additionally, in 2021, they were a User Experience (UX) Design Intern at AG Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, where they worked directly with AG Bells' Development Office to analyze and develop a UI/X solution for the organization's website, ran UX and UI evaluations to aid in the development of Wireframes for the website's improvements, and worked with a team of three other interns to develop a monthly fundraising campaign for the organization. Currently, Sammi is a Software Security Engineer I at Sealing Technologies Inc. and a Jr. Software Engineer at Norseman Services.
Sammi Lacovara attended the University of Maryland from 2017 to 2021 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Science. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they attended Colorado Northwestern Community College and obtained an Associate of Arts. In 2019, they obtained a Social and Behavioral Research - Basic/Refresher certification from the CITI Program.
