James P Pearson has over 30 years of experience in the field of biology and pharmaceuticals. James P founded Sea Pharmaceuticals in 2013 and currently holds the positions of President, CEO, Chief Science Officer, Founder, and Director. Prior to this, they worked as a Contract Consultant at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals from 2008 to 2014 and as a Principal Investigator from 2008 to 2012. James P also served as a Research Scientist at Microbia Inc from 2000 to 2008 and completed a Fellowship in Molecular Biology and Infectious Disease at Protein Design Labs, Inc from 1998 to 2000. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Research Biologist at the University of Rochester from 1994 to 1998 and at the University of Iowa from 1991 to 1994. James P had also worked as a Painter at Hartig Drug in 1986 and as an Orthopaedic Surgery Office Assistant at Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons PC from 1985 to 1986.

James P Pearson completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, General from the University of Iowa from 1986 to 1991. James P then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Microbiology, General at the University of Iowa from 1992 to 1994. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester from 1994 to 1998.
