Onder Nazim Onak has worked in the software engineering field since 1997. Onder Nazim began their career as a Research Assistant at Hacettepe University in 1997. In 1999, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Aselsan Inc. Onder Nazim then moved to Aselsan in 2007, where they held the role of Lead Software Design Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. In 2022, they joined ScreenPoint Medical as a Senior Software Engineer.

Onder Nazim Onak obtained a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hacettepe University between 1991 and 1997. Onder Nazim then obtained an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Middle East Technical University between 2008 and 2011. Onder Nazim then obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Mathematics from the Middle East Technical University between 2012 and 2017. Onder Nazim also obtained a Machine Learning certification from Coursera in October 2022, and is currently in the process of obtaining a Supervised Machine Learning: Regression and Classification certification from Coursera.
