Barbara Wiggins has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Barbara currently works at scPharmaceuticals as a Clinical Education and Research Liaison since September 2022. Prior to this, they held positions at MUSC College of Pharmacy as an Affiliate Professor from October 2014 to October 2022, and at the Medical University of South Carolina as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Cardiology from November 2011 to October 2022.
Barbara also worked at the University of Virginia Health System as a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist in Cardiology from August 2002 to November 2009. Before their career in healthcare, they served as the Director of Pharmacy in the US Navy from May 1993 to August 1999. Their early experience includes working as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative at ELI LILLY AND COMPANY PHARMACY from May 1992 to May 1993.
Barbara Wiggins has a diverse education history spanning over several years. Barbara first attended Poplar Bluff Senior High School from 1984 to 1987, where they earned their High School Diploma.
After completing high school, Barbara pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. Barbara enrolled in 1987 and successfully completed their studies in 1992.
Building on their undergraduate education, Barbara attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine from 1996 to 1998. During this time, they achieved a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD), specializing in Pharmacy.
Recently, Barbara pursued higher education and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The Citadel between 2015 and 2019. Their focus of study during their MBA program was Business Administration and Management, General.
In addition to their formal degrees, Barbara has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. Barbara became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) in 2002 through the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialities. Barbara also holds the certification of Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist from the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA), which they obtained in October 2022. Moreover, Barbara is recognized as a Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist and Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Additionally, they hold a Clinical Lipid Specialist certification from the American Council on Clinical Lipidology.
