John Baschab is a co-founder, manager of the General Partner and member of the investment committee at Scout. He is responsible for capital raising, investor relations, information technology, commodity product marketing and commodity product hedging.
John earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama in 1991 and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1996. John was with Intergraph Corporation and Booz-Allen & Hamilton until joining and co-founding Impact Innovations Group, a mid-market technology outsourcing company, in 1999. John served as President of Consulting of Impact Innovations Group and specialized in due diligence for private equity firms. Impact Innovations Group was sold in two transactions, one involving a Charlesbank Capital Partners’ portfolio company.
John was an adjunct professor of engineering at Southern Methodist University from 2003 through 2010 and serves on the Honors College Board of Visitors for the University of Alabama, the board of the North Texas Chapter of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and the board of the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. He is co-author of several books published by John Wiley & Sons, including The Executives Guide to Information Technology (2003, 2d ed 2007), The Professional Services Firm Bible (2005), and Outperform: Inside the Investment Strategy of Billion Dollar Endowments (2010).
