Pat McHugh is Chief Executive Officer for Scientific Games, leading the company’s worldwide lottery business spanning six continents and serving lottery customers in more than 50 countries. Scientific Games is the leading provider of games to the $300 billion global lottery industry. He is responsible for global strategy and growth plans across instant products, systems technologies, digital lottery and sports betting.
In 2022, Pat guided the nearly $6 billion sale of Scientific Games Lottery to Brookfield Business Partners to position the company and its customers for accelerated modernization and growth. With more than 25 years of lottery industry experience, he has directed complex gaming systems technology deployments, operations, new business initiatives and strategic product development in lottery markets around the world.
Joining Scientific Games in 2004, Pat previously held the position of Senior Vice President Global Lottery Systems, leading many of the company’s strategic industry firsts, including expanded distribution channels, cashless payments, sports betting, new network technology, and digital lottery content and platforms.
Prior to joining the company, Pat was involved with delivering large-scale systems and products to government agencies in the lottery and other industries, including for IGT Online Entertainment Systems (acquired by Scientific Games).
Pat holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Technology from Northeastern University in Boston and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Columbia University in New York City.
