Sara Phillips has extensive experience in science communication and journalism, currently serving as the Secretary for the Science Journalists Association of Australia since 2019. As a freelance writer since 2009, Sara has contributed to various publications and held significant roles including Board Member at the Invasive Species Council and Asia-Pacific Bureau Chief at Nature Portfolio. Previous positions include Senior Commissioning Editor at 360info.global and Executive Editor for Asia-Pacific at Nature Research. Sara’s early career involved reporting and editing roles at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, as well as editorial positions at Luna Media and WME Media. Sara holds a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication from The Australian National University and a combined Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, specializing in English, Zoology, and Psychology.
