Thomas Ruehl

Thomas Ruehl has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Thomas currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer at Schwyzer Kantonalbank since August 2022. Prior to this, Thomas worked as the Head of Research at SwissBanking - Schweizerische Bankiervereinigung from April 2019 to July 2022. Thomas also had a part-time role as a Moderator while being self-employed from January 2017 to July 2022. Thomas had a leadership position as the Head of VCLG at VCLG from June 2018 to March 2019. Before that, they worked as the Head of Business Consulting at BAK ECONOMICS AG from July 2017 to March 2019. Thomas began their career as an Online Editor at bol.ch (Bertelsmann Online) from 1999 to 2001.

Thomas Ruehl's education history includes a variety of academic experiences. In 1999, they attended the University of Zurich and obtained a degree in Economics, specifically a lic. oec. publ. (MA in Economics), which they completed in 2004. During their time at the University of Zurich, Thomas also participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program at Lund University in 2002-2003, focusing on Economics.

In 1999, Thomas attended the University of California, Berkeley for their Summer School program, where they studied Economics and Neuroscience.

More recently, in 2018-2019, Thomas Ruehl attended IMD and completed the Executive MBA program, specializing in General Management. In November 2019, they obtained the IMD Executive MBA certification from IMD Business School.
