Kara Stern, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Education and Engagement at SchoolStatus, leading initiatives to transform K-12 education through content strategy and partnerships. Previously, Kara was the Director of Education Content at Smore, an educational tech startup, and also taught and advised doctoral students at Northeastern University. As an educational consultant, Kara worked with various clients, including an EdTech STEM startup and a teacher professional development program. Kara's leadership experience includes serving as Head of School at Woodstock Day School and Executive Director at Math for America, where the focus was on improving the teaching profession in science and mathematics. Kara's educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from New York University, an MA in Education Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in Art History and English from Wesleyan University.
