Louie Girotto has a diverse range of work experience in facilities management and operations. Louie is currently serving as the Director of Facilities at Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows School District No.42 since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Douglas College as the Associate Director of Physical Plant Services & Projects from March 2018 to February 2023. Before joining Douglas College, they were the Assistant Director of Maintenance Operations at School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) from May 2017 to March 2018. Louie Girotto also has extensive experience at Douglas College, where they held the positions of Manager of Facilities Services from June 2007 to May 2017 and Manager of Facilities Services from June 1995 to 2007. In their roles at Douglas College, they were responsible for a range of tasks related to facility maintenance, project management, and operational leadership. Prior to their time at Douglas College, Louie Girotto served as an Operations Supervisor at Landis & Gyr Powers, where they were involved in project management and the design of Direct Digital Control systems.
Louie Girotto studied at the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 1981 to 1983, where they pursued Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Technology/Technician as their field of study. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Refrigeration & Boiler Operator certification from the BC Safety Authority in 2000. Louie is also registered as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC), although the specific year of obtaining this certification is not mentioned. Furthermore, they are currently engaged in the Applied Leadership Certificate Program at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, with an expected completion date in 2017.
