Phil Vlach has a diverse work experience in the technology and senior living industries. Phil founded AgeTech Labs in 2023, where they test and reviews agetech products for retirement and long-term care communities. Phil also served as the Head of Information Technology at Schlegel Villages starting in 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Startup Mentor at AGE-WELL NCE Inc. in 2020. Phil was an Advisor at Orium in 2019, where they focused on crafting intelligent software solutions. Phil also worked as an Associate - Technology & Digital at AdaptEco in 2021. Phil served as an Advisor at Cubigo from 2020 to 2021, helping to digitize non-clinical services for senior living communities. Before that, they were the VP of Information Technology at Amica Senior Lifestyles from 2017 to 2019. Phil's experience also includes serving as the Director of Information and Communication Technology at Surrey Place Centre from 2015 to 2016. Phil worked as the Principal of Red & White Design from 2013 to 2016, where they developed mobile apps to modernize the city. Prior to that, Phil held various roles at TELUS from 2007 to 2013, including Director of IT Operations/Service Assurance and Director of Wireless Operations. Throughout their career, Phil has demonstrated a strong focus on innovation, technology implementation, and process improvement.

Phil Vlach earned their M. Eng degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, where they attended from 1992 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, Phil has obtained several certifications, including the Automation Pro I Certificate from Workato in May 2022. Prior to that, they completed the "Digital Transformation: Platform Strategies for Success" and "Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy" certifications at the MIT Sloan School of Management in November 2019 and October 2019, respectively. Phil also holds the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from the Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in June 2016. Moreover, they have completed the ITIL Foundations v3 certification and is recognized as a Senior Member by the IEEE, although specific dates for these certifications are not provided.
