Luis Coelho has a range of work experience in engineering and software development. Luis has worked at various companies, starting with Philips Consumer Electronics in 1999 as an R&D Hardware Engineer. Luis then worked at Acutron as an R&D Hardware and Software Engineer from 2000 to 2006. Following that, they joined Siemens as an R&D Software Engineer from 2006 to 2009. Luis then worked at Critical Software as a Software Project Engineer from 2009 to 2011, where they focused on Real Time Protocols Management for Energy Systems. Luis Coelho then moved on to Nokia Siemens Networks, where they worked as a Senior Software QA Engineer from 2011 to 2013, specializing in Telecommunication Operation Support Systems Software Manual Testing and Test Automation. Luis then joined Railtec Systems GmbH as a Software Project Engineer from 2013 to 2016, where they contributed to software test and build automation. In 2016, Luis Coelho joined Harsco Rail as a Project and Software Engineer. Finally, they currently hold positions at Schindler Group, starting as a Senior Engineer in 2017, then progressing to Head of Gateway Technology in 2018, Edge Software Team Leader in 2020, and currently as a Principal Engineer Edge Systems since 2023.

Luis Coelho holds a Master's degree in EE Industrial Systems from the Universidade de Coimbra, which they obtained from 1991 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended the Escola Secundaria Dr. Ginestal Machado from 1987 to 1991, although they did not obtain a degree during that time. In addition to their formal education, Coelho has obtained various certifications, including the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals certifications from Microsoft, among others.
