Menelaos Kanakis is a Senior Machine Learning Researcher at Scandit since March 2023, focusing on efficient neural network design for mobile devices and overseeing deep learning and computer vision projects. Prior to this role, Menelaos completed a PhD at ETH Zurich, conducting research on deep neural network inference, model quantization, and multi-task learning. Additional experience includes an internship at Advertima, where Menelaos contributed to digital signage product development, and research assistant positions at ETH Zurich and the University of Leeds, focusing on machine learning applications in cardiac technologies and robotics, respectively. Menelaos also served as an Application Engineer intern at National Instruments and worked as a Research and Development Engineer at SignalGeneriX Ltd. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MSc from ETH Zurich along with a BEng from the University of Leeds, underpinned by military service in the Cyprus National Guard.
