Leonardo Silva Vilhena has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the technology industry. Leonardo currently works as a DevOps Engineer at Scalo since 2022.
Prior to that, they were at City Robotics from 2021 to 2022, where they held the position of DevOps Lead (Product Owner). In this role, they developed ROS1 and ROS2 packages/nodes for robots and containerized robot modules, improving portability and accelerating development. Leonardo also deployed with Docker-Compose and conducted a Proof of Concept on k3s (Kubernetes for IoT).
From 2019 to 2021, Leonardo worked at Nordea. Leonardo started as a Product Owner and later transitioned to the role of IT Infrastructure Specialist. In these roles, they managed OpenShift projects and releases with Bamboo, automated organizations and projects on AWX (Ansible Tower), and automated the firewall opening process with Ansible, Algosec/Fireflow, and Checkpoint.
In 2018, Leonardo worked as a Cloud Software Engineer at MicroStrategy, where they focused on cloud-based software development.
From 2017 to 2018, Leonardo was at Gravete Group, first as a Devops Lead Engineer and later as a Python Developer Team Leader. In these roles, they improved data pipeline speed, developed a distributed crawling infrastructure on Kubernetes Engine, and coordinated the web data extraction team.
Prior to their career in the technology industry, Leonardo worked as an Independent Music Professional from 2003 to 2017, and as a Freelance Software Engineer from 2015 to 2017.
Leonardo Silva Vilhena completed their Bachelor's degree in Music at CBM-CEU Conservatório Brasileiro de Música from 2009 to 2011. Leonardo then pursued further education at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, where they obtained their degree of Inżynier in the field of Informatyka from 2017 to 2021.
In addition to their formal education, Leonardo also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they became a Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. Leonardo also received certifications in Kubernetes Essentials from Linux Academy, Azure Enterprise Development: 2 Application Services from Lynda.com, and Docker Essential Training: 4 Storage and Volumes from Lynda.com, all in 2019. In 2018, they completed courses in Disrupting Yourself and Getting Things Done from Lynda.com. Leonardo also earned certifications from Lynda.com in Up and Running with Python, Become a Programmer, Foundations of Programming: Databases, Foundations of Programming: Object-Oriented Design, Programming Fundamentals in the Real World, Up and Running with Git and GitHub, Becoming a Web Developer: Full Stack vs Front End, and Foundations of Programming: Fundamentals, all in 2016. Additionally, they completed courses in Front-end Formations and Front-end Foundations from Code School, although the specific dates are not provided for these.
