George Pu is a Machine Learning Research Engineer at Scale AI since January 2023 and has been a Machine Learning Researcher at UCLA-NLP since May 2022, focusing on transformers, large language models, and universal structured prediction. Previous experience includes roles at Convoy Inc. as a Software Engineer in both 2021 and 2022, where George contributed to data and machine learning platforms, and a position at American Express developing ML/NLP models for intent classification. George has also conducted research in information extraction and NLP models at SDLab (UCSD) and led the development of an iOS app with machine learning capabilities at Qualcomm Institute. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, with a focus on Machine Learning and Neural Computation, from UC San Diego.
