John Orr has a strong background in software development and research and development. John started their career as a Computer Programmer at FLX in 1993. In 1995, they joined Scala, where they worked as a Software Engineer and later as a Senior Software Engineer. John also served as the Director of Research and Development at Scala starting in March 2016. Prior to Scala, John worked as a Technical Editor for AmigaMail at Commodore Business Machines from November 1989 to June 1993.

John Orr attended Rutgers University from 1985 to 1989, studying Computer Science.
