Sonia Bashir Kabir has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Sonia is the Founder and Managing General Partner of SBK Tech Ventures since May 2019. Sonia is also the Founder of SBK Foundation, which is the world's first digital-only, Shariah-only licensed Micro Finance Institute (MFI) with a focus on providing skills training to underprivileged women and youth in Bangladesh.

Additionally, Sonia has served as a CXO Advisory Board Member at Dell Technologies since February 2021, an Independent Board Member at IPDC Finance since April 2019, and a Member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of IT Steering Committee at BRAC University since March 2019.

Sonia has also contributed to organizations such as Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women as a Board Member since April 2017 and G100: Mission Million as Global Chair of IT Services and Innovation since June 2021. Sonia has been a Board Member and Advisor to various organizations since July 2006.

Notably, Sonia has held key roles within the United Nations, including Vice Chairperson and Governing Council member of the United Nations Technology Bank for LDCs since December 2016. The UN Tech Bank focuses on enhancing science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development in the world's least developed countries.

Furthermore, Sonia is a member of XA Network since August 2021.

Sonia Bashir Kabir completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & Marketing from Santa Clara University from 1996 to 1998. Sonia obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from California State University - East Bay from 1989 to 1993. Prior to that, they completed their Senior Cambridge from Green Herald International School (St Francis Xaviers) and their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from Viqarunessa Noon College. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including the Dell Technologies Connected CIO Program from Stanford University and Harvard Business School in 2022, Selling to the C-Suite from Wharton Executive Education in 2016, and Microsoft-INSEAD Online Business Strategy and Financial Acumen with Distinction from INSEAD Executive Education in 2015.
