Starting with the Los Angeles Times in the late 1970s, Lanie covered a wide range of topics such as medicine, education, business, labor, and politics. Graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Culture, Lanie has been contributing articles to the Savannah Morning News for several years, focusing on business and feature pieces.
