Karen Mendelson

Senior Scientist at Sapience Therapeutics, Inc.

Karen Mendelson has over 20 years of work experience in the field of scientific research. Karen is currently working at Sapience Therapeutics, Inc. as a Senior Scientist. Prior to this, they worked at Mount Sinai Health System for five years as a Senior Scientist, where they focused on understanding the drivers of early primary melanoma tumor progression. Karen also conducted research on the epigenome and intracellular signaling pathways associated with high-risk melanoma phenotypes.

Before joining Mount Sinai, Karen Mendelson worked at Weill Cornell Medical College for ten years. During their time there, they served as a Postdoctoral Associate and a Graduate Student. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Princeton University from 1999 to 2003, earning an A.B. degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Karen also attended the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science from 1997 to 1999, where they completed their high school education.
