Sean McDermott is a seasoned technology executive and investor with extensive experience in engineering and venture capital. Currently a Limited Partner at Santa Barbara Venture Partners since November 2023 and an Angel Investor with Tech Coast Angels Los Angeles since May 2022, McDermott co-founded Incubate Ventura in April 2022. McDermott spent two decades at Akamai Technologies, concluding a successful tenure as VP of Engineering, where contributions included the Private Cloud Strategy and Akamai Labs, among other leadership roles. Prior experience includes positions at Fidelity Investments and ICL Ireland. An alumnus of Trinity College Dublin, McDermott holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science. A passion for travel is evident, with McDermott engaging in full-time RV travel across North America from October 2018 to March 2020, and embarking on a notable RV trip to the Arctic Ocean and several U.S. states in 2023.
