Dr. Volker Wendel is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the healthcare sector, currently serving as the CEO and Founder of Sanoptis since July 2018, leading a prominent network of over 400 ophthalmology clinics across Europe. Previous roles include Chief Financial Officer at ARTEMIS Augenkliniken und med. Versorgungszentren and AMEOS Gruppe, as well as Managing Director of Westdeutsches Protonentherapiezentrum Essen. Dr. Wendel has also held the position of Deputy Administrative Director at Universitätsklinikum Essen and worked as a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Political Sciences with a focus on Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, along with an Associate's degree in Economics from The University of Freiburg.
