Head Business Engagement at Sanlam

Mansur Dawood has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the IT industry. Mansur started their career at Eskom as a Geographic Information System Operator in 1997. Mansur then moved on to T-Systems International, where they worked as a Help Desk Support Specialist. In 2000, they joined Sanlam as an IT: Enterprise Systems Manager and held this position until 2006. Mansur then returned to Sanlam in 2007 and took on the roles of Head of Information Technology Operations and later Head of Contract and Sourcing. Mansur then transitioned to IBM in 2011 as a Territory and Sales Representative before becoming the Head of Business Engagement at Sanlam in 2012. In this role, they are responsible for IT leadership and managing the relationship between IT and the business, including acting as the CIO for SanlamConnect.

Mansur Dawood's education history begins in 1994 when they attended the University of Cape Town and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences. Mansur completed this program in 1996.

In 1999, Mansur attended the ITT Training Centre and obtained a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification in Information Technology.

In the year 2000, they enrolled in the University of Cape Town once again, this time earning a Diploma in Project Management.

Mansur then attended the Stellenbosch Business School in 2003 for the Senior Manager Development Programme, where they focused on Business Administration and Management.

Between 2005 and 2007, Mansur studied at the University of the Western Cape and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree, specializing in Management Information Systems and Services.

Finally, from 2009 to 2011, Mansur completed an Honours degree in Strategic Cost Management at the University of Cape Town.
