James Turp is an experienced finance professional specializing in fixed income investment strategy and portfolio management. Currently serving as the Head of Fixed Income Investment Strategy and Portfolio Manager at Sanlam Investments since December 2022, James oversees multiple funds and segregated mandates. Previously, James held the position of Head of Fixed Income at Absa Asset Management, managing a range of unit trusts and contributing to fixed income leadership from December 2013 to December 2022. Earlier roles include Chief Dealer of Foreign Markets at Eskom, Senior Dealer at Nedbank Capital, Associate Director at WestLB, and Dealer at Standard Bank, all emphasizing expertise in trading and portfolio management. James holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and a program in Treasury Management from the University of South Africa.
