Robert Fried has a diverse work experience in the field of digital forensics and investigations. Robert is currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Forensics and Investigations at Sandline Discovery LLC since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Writer and Contributor for PI Magazine, Inc. starting from November 2020. Robert also served as an Advisory Board Member for CHFI Certification at EC-Council starting from January 2020. Before that, they held various roles at Consilio LLC, including Senior Director and Director of Digital Forensics & Expert Services from 2016 to 2021. Robert also worked as a Director, Manager, and Associate at Huron from 2007 to 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Consultant at DOAR, Inc. from 2005 to 2007 and as a Computer Crime Specialist II at the National White Collar Crime Center from 2002 to 2005. Robert started their career as a Graduate Student Intern at SEARCH Group, Incorporated in 2002.
Robert Fried earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven in 1998. Robert then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Forensic Science from the same institution, completing it in 2002. Robert also holds various certifications related to their field, including a Private Investigator license obtained from the New York State Department of State in 2017. Other certifications include Certified Bitcoin Professional from the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4) in 2021, Chainalysis Cryptocurrency Fundamentals Certification, Chainalysis Reactor Certification, Professional Investigator (Private Investigator/Detective) from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in 2015, AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE), Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) from the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists, EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) from Guidance Software, and GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) from the SANS Institute.
