Haag Sherman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Haag started their career in 2002 as the Co-Founder and Partner at Salient, where they were involved for nine years. In 2012, they co-founded and managed Bigfoot Energy Services, LLC and Iron Mountain Energy, LLC, while also serving as a Board Member at Hilltop Holdings. In 2014, Haag joined The University of Texas School of Law as an Adjunct Professor, teaching for two years. Haag then moved on to become the CEO of Tectonic Financial, Inc. in 2015. Haag also served as the Chairman of the Board at T Bank N.A. and as a Managing Director at Sanders Morris Harris in 2017. Most recently, they became a Board Member at CBIZ in 2020.

Haag Sherman attended Baylor University from an unknown start year to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Economics. Later, they attended The University of Texas School of Law and earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree by the end of 1992. In addition to their educational background, Haag Sherman holds various certifications including being an Attorney from the State Bar of Texas and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Haag also obtained several certifications in the financial industry through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), including Series 24, Series 53, Series 63, Series 65, and Series 7.
