Connor Shannon has worked in a variety of roles in the robotics industry since 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a CNC Operator/Shop Hand at Terrick Enterprises Ltd. and as a Junior Draughtsman at MakLoc Buildings Inc. In 2013, they took on the role of Arm Mechanical Lead at Thunderbots@home. In 2014, they worked as a Manufacturing Testing Co-op and Power Electronics Co-op at Tesla Motors. In 2016, they worked as a Magnetic Field Probe Calibration Co-op at General Fusion. From 2014 to 2017, Connor was the Team Co-Captain at UBC Open Robotics and a Teaching Assistant for ENPH 253, Introduction to Instrument Design at The University of British Columbia. In 2017, they became the Cofounder and CTO at Nascent Robotics. Since 2018, they have held the role of Chief Robotics Officer and Robotics Designer - Technical Lead at Sanctuary AI, where they are in charge of the robotics team and works on full system architecture, robotics, CAD, mechanism design, mechatronics design, and creative problem solving.
Connor Shannon attended the University of Alberta from 2011 to 2011, where they studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology - Honors. Connor then attended Red Deer Polytechnic from 2010 to 2011, majoring in Science. Finally, they attended The University of British Columbia from 2012 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Engineering Physics.
