Darren Heiber is a seasoned library professional with extensive experience in various roles within public library systems and educational institutions. Currently serving as Branch Manager at the San Francisco Public Library since January 2023, Darren previously held multiple positions, including Senior Librarian and Acting Branch Manager at San Mateo County Libraries from December 2014 to December 2022. Prior experience includes directing public services at Free Geek, and various librarian roles at Lewis & Clark College, Mt. Hood Community College, and Tigard Public Library. Furthermore, Darren's career began in education as a High School English Teacher and as an Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. Darren holds a Master of Library and Information Science with a School Library Media Specialist Teaching Certification, along with a Master of Education in English/Language Arts Teacher Education, both from Rutgers University.
