Steve Merson AGSM is an accomplished violinist and educator with extensive experience in both teaching and performance. Currently serving as a Violin Teacher at Dolce Music Studio and Austin School of Music North since early 2020, Merson also holds the position of Principal 2nd Violin with the Central Texas Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed as a Substitute Violinist for both the San Antonio Symphony and Austin Symphony Orchestra since 2008. Additionally, Merson was the Acting Principal 2nd Violin for Austin Opera from 2020 to 2023 and has a long-standing background as a violinist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from 1984 to 2007. Merson holds an Associate's degree in Violin from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, completed between 1978 and 1982.
