Sophie Verhaeghe is a seasoned violinist with extensive experience in performance and education. Currently serving as a Section Violinist for both the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Austin Opera, Verhaeghe co-founded Austin Camerata, where the mission focuses on promoting chamber music through creative concerts and community outreach. Verhaeghe's teaching portfolio includes private violin instruction and previous roles as an adjunct instructor at Texas Lutheran University and a chamber coach at the Austin Chamber Music Center. Academic achievements include an Artist Diploma from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music from Boston University, complemented by further studies in chamber music at the University of Michigan. Verhaeghe's commitment to music has been recognized through grants and fellowships, reflecting a dedication to both performance and education within the arts community.
