Michael Karlis is an experienced writer currently serving as a Staff Writer for the San Antonio Current since December 2021. Previously, Michael held the position of Editorial Reporting Intern at Salon Media Group, Inc. from June to September 2021 and engaged in freelance reporting for student media from June 2019 to May 2021. Michael's experience also includes working as an Undergraduate Research & Teaching Assistant at American University and serving various roles, including Web Director and Copyeditor, at AWOL Student Media Publication. Additionally, Michael completed a Social Media & Editorial Internship at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition in March 2019 and worked as a Staff Writer for Hopkinton News from May 2017 to August 2018. Michael is pursuing a Master of Arts in Journalism at Moody College of Communication and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from American University.
