Alex Cook

Co-Founder (Tech, Product, Regulatory) at Samphire Neuroscience

Alex Cook has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Alex is currently the Co-Founder (Tech, Product, Regulatory) at Samphire Neuroscience, where they manage technical product development teams and leads hardware and software product teams. Alex is also responsible for global regulatory strategy and product roadmap.

Prior to that, Alex worked as a Venture Fellow at AfterWork Ventures, where they assisted in due diligences related to their core expertise. Alex also served as an Adjunct Lecturer and Unit Coordinator at The University of Western Australia, where they designed and co-taught cross-disciplinary units on legal technology and published on effective teaching strategies for law students.

Alex also gained experience as a Venture Accelerator at HAX, completing a fellowship in rapid prototyping and development of hardware and software devices for Samphire Neuroscience. Alex worked across various geographies, including Western Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

In addition, Alex worked as a Lawyer (IP and Technology) at Herbert Smith Freehills, specializing in legal and technical product design for emerging technologies and advising on technology transfer and commercialization agreements. Alex was also a founding member of the Digital Law Group.

Alex's work experience also includes being part of the founding team at Bamboo, a distributed novel asset investment platform. Bamboo was acquired in 2020.

Alex Cook's education history begins with their high school education at Perth Modern School from 2007 to 2011, where they completed their WACE. They then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Business Law and International Relations (BComm) at The University of Western Australia from 2012 to 2017. During this time, they also obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a focus on Commercial, Corporate & Technology at the same university from 2015 to 2017. Alex furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Law and Finance at the Saïd Business School and Law Faculty of the University of Oxford from 2020 to 2021.
